Hollywood’s Golden Girl, Farrah Fawcett

Actress Farrah Fawcett passed away June 25th after a long battle with cancer. I wasn’t able to write about her earlier but thought I would just add a few words on her now. hair extension styles If you didn’t know who Farrah Fawcett was (if you didn’t know who she was you would have had to been living under a rock!), she was a pop culture phenomenon whose celebrity hairstyle was envied and emulated by millions of women and still is to this day. Sadly, in the past few years, Farrah had been diagnosed with cancer, thought she was cancer free after a few months of treatment; only to find out it was back again.

The Farrah Fawcett Hairstyle was arguably the Most Famous Celebrity Hairstyle of all time.
Although Farrah Fawcett’s career spanned over three decades, her most memorable role was probably as Jill Monroe in Charlie’s Angels in the 1970’s. At that time, her hairstyle, became the most famous celebrity hairstyle of its day. The funny thing is, that a new slightly different version of the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle, is once again topping the best hairstyles list. Now however, we tone it down a bit.

Even though big hair has made a comeback, we don’t take big to the extreme that it was done in the 70’s. What we have copied from this hugely popular celebrity hairstyle is the layering and curling the layers away from the face. Now we are even cutting bangs into these long layered hairstyles. However, the bangs are styled and sometimes cut differently now than in the 70’s, which is part of what updates the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle.

Farrah Fawcett’s California-girl good looks and celebrity status made her an icon well into her last months with us. Recently she made a reality documentary called ‘Farrah’s Story.’ This documentary tells of her well-known battle with cancer, hoping it may be of some help to others that may be faced with this horrid disease. hair closure pieces The documentary was shown on NBC and can be found at the networks website.

Hairstyles That Make You Appear Thinner

We all know that a new hairstyle can give a person an entirely different look. Even a simple change can reflect a shift in your overall style . . . and makes you feel great to boot! sew in lace closure But did you know that choosing the right hairstyle for your face shape can also give you a thinner appearance? Here, we’ll give you a few examples to help you choose hairstyles that make you appear thinner and that’s perfect for you.

The Layered Hairstyle
Layers have long been touted for their ability to give thin or flat hair a tremendous boost in volume. However, for women with round face shapes, the layered hairstyle tends to soften your curves, making your face appear much thinner. Further, layers that fall near the cheekbone tend to highlight your bone structure. Longer hair with soft, flowing curls are best for elongating your face.

The Asymmetrical Bob
The asymmetrical bob, which starts a bit higher in the back and longer on the sides, is a look that is both timeless and chic. It tends to elongate the neck, lengthening the appearance of fuller faces. It is best, though, when the hair framing your face is at least 2-3 inches below the chin. While it looks fabulous straight, you can sweep your bangs to the side for a different appearance.

The Textured Bob
Fuller faces only appear fuller with really straight hair. However, the textured bob that’s at least shoulder length will give you softness and fullness and will give your face a lengthier appearance.

The Heightened Updo
For special events, many women enjoy sweeping their hair straight back into a flirty pony-tail. However, this look rarely achieves the understated glamour desired for women with rounder faces. Instead, the heightened updo is the perfect mix of elegance and glamour, but with enough height to elongate the face and to add that pop of interest.

Highlights

While it’s not exactly a hair style, per se, highlights are highly effective at giving the illusion of a slimmer face. Be careful, though–you will not want to have heavy lines next to your face, but rather the kind of natural highlights which offer depth and shape. hair extension Plus, the soft vertical lines double as an optical illusion, much like wearing vertical stripes makes the wearer look thinner.
